My Kirkpatrick Family - Ireland to America

I remember growing up and hearing that my family came from Ireland but that was about all I knew. I didn't get very involved until 2004 when I heard from my cousin Dan. I was able to find several other cousins that told me the story of my family as they believed it was and I started looking into my ancestors based on this information. And so their story starts with:

My great, great-grandfather, Alexander Kirkpatrick, born around 1800 in Cork, Ireland, marries Susanne Nimmo, about 1830 in Ireland. They have three children:

From Ireland, the three (James Henry, Mary, and Thomas), emigrated and eventually settled in Cleveland, Ohio to start what is known as "The Kirkpatricks from Cleveland".

After doing a lot of research, the story of my family expanded quite a bit and I found many errors and omissions in the origianl story. The biggest surprise came from my cousin Dan (a descendent of James Henry Kirkpatrick). He dropped this blockbuster news that my direct descendent, Thomas Kirkpatrick, was born out of wedlock. (it apperas that both parents were not married to each other). Thomas's death certificate seems to confirm this since his parents are listed as "unknown". This is a huge mysterty that I have been trying to solve ever since I got the news from Dan.

So here is what I have uncovered about my family to date: - Note:Spelling of last name from Kirkpatrick to Kilpatrick to Killpatrick

(1)Matthew Kirkpatrick - marries Elizabeth March, May 13, 1718, Drumhome, Co Donegal, Ireland

(2)Arthur Kilpatrick - My great,great,great, great-grandfather - father of Matthew Kilpatrick

(3)Matthew (Kilpatrick) Kirkpatrick - My great, great, great-grandfather - marries Jane Watson, May 26,1795 Dromore (Drumhome), Co Donegal, Ireland. They have five children:

Alexander and Susanna have seven children:

Found two other marriages in Mayo Co of Alexander Kirkpatrick that I think are both related to him but hard to prove for sure: - I suspect one of these wives is the mother of Thomas Kirkpatrick

2) Alexander Kirkpatrick marries Jane Bole, born 1815; death Oct 4, 1857, County Mayo. They marry Dec 22, 1834, Mayo Co and have four children:

Found another family that connects to Alexander Kirkpatrick & Jane Bole - named The Gibney/Kirkpatrick Family Tree. I don't think the parents of Alexander Kirkpatrick are correct, but I believe these are the same lines. They have four children:

1) Richard Kirkpatrick, b 1845 Ireland. Marries Maria Madden. He died Aug 7, 1925 in Saratoga Springs, Ny - His death certificate confirms his parents are Alexander Kirkpatrick and Jane Bole

2)Thomas Kirkpatrick, baptism Ov 7, 1846 Co Mayo. Married Mary Murphy He died March 13, 1903 in Saratoga Springs, NY from suicide by taking a good-sized dose of Paris Green

3) Andrew Kirkpatrick, baptised Jul 9, 1848, Co Mayo. Died 1901 Saratoga Springs, NY
